Helen M. Williams, 79, of New Bedford died Saturday June 15, 2002 peacefully in her sleep at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late George and Eva Williams.
Born in Port Murray, NJ, she had lived in Allentown, PA before moving to New Bedford 35 years ago.
Ms. Williams was formerly employed as a stitcher at Ronnie's Manufacturing until her retirement.
She was an avid card player and bingo player.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Williams of Acushnet; her son, Dennis Williams of Orlando, FL;; her longtime companion, Richard Pryor of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Della Williams of Allentown, PA and Corrine Williams of New Bedford; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.She was the mother of the late Kenneth Williams, and sister of the late Clara Haskins, Thelma Jordan, Elizabeth Williams, Henry Williams, and Edward Williams.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday evening June 18, 2002 at 8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 5-8 PM prior to the service.
