WEBSTER – Anthony W. Dalterio, 90, formerly of East Main St., died Thursday, Nov. 3, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center. His wife of 38 years, Esther C. (Andrych) Dalterio, died in 1990.
He leaves a son, Michael A. Dalterio and his partner Randall Lynch of New Castle, NH; a daughter, Maria Dalterio and her husband Alex Feldvebel of Concord, NH; a brother, Dominic Dalterio of Webster; 2 sisters, Ann Russell of Dudley and Kay Lukowski of Nevada; 2 grandchildren, Sophia and Tessa; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 5 brothers, Francis, William, Joseph, Louis “Jack,” and Salvatore Dalterio and by a sister, Mary Cichon.
He was born in Manchaug, a son of Michael J. and Lucia (Scarglia) Dalterio, and lived most of his life in Webster. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was awarded 2 bronze stars.
Mr. Dalterio first worked at Bates Shoe Company. He was then a waiter at the Colonial Restaurant for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Saint Louis Church. He enjoyed fishing and was a staunch Yankee fan.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 8, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, Nov. 7, in the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to Oakwood Recreation Fund, 11 Pontiac Ave., Webster, MA 01570
