BRIDGEWATER - George A. Cirelli Sr., 88, of Bridgewater died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Nemasket Healthcare Nursing Facility in Middleboro after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Emma V. (Cabral) Cirelli.
Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Emidio and Maria (Salerno) Cirelli.
Mr. Cirelli attended Brockton schools and had been a resident of Bridgewater for the past 57 years.
He was co-owner with his brothers of Cirelli Food Service for 53 years, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Cirelli was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, George Jr. and his wife Ann of Plymouth, Robert F. and his wife Barbara of Kingston, Carol A. Cirelli of Bridgewater, John J. “Jay” and his wife Marie of Lakeville and Michael P. of Bridgewater; a brother, John N. Cirelli of Yarmouth and Florida; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Bella. He was also brother of the late Victor, Margaret and Joseph Cirelli.
His funeral will be held from The Prophett Funeral home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt.18) Bridgewater Tuesday at 9 am. followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater. Visiting hours Monday 3-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
