LOWELL—Claire A. (Page) Levasseur, 90 years old, died Thursday afternoon, November 3rd, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, in Chelmsford. She was the wife of the late Raymond Levasseur, a former Lowell Firefighter, who died in 1979.
She was born in Lowell, on May 27, 1915, a daughter of the late Raoul Page and Ada (Purtell) (Page) Bordeleau. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Lowell High School, Class of 1933.
Mrs. Levasseur had been employed in the Admitting Department of the former St. John’s Hospital and the Emergency Department of the former St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was an avid bingo player, and loved her trips to Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun Casino.
Surviving her are a son: Raymond A. Levasseur, Jr., of Arlington. Among her nieces and nephews are: Shirley O’Hearn, of Salem, NH, who cared for her aunt. She also leaves dear friends: Claire Mousley, of Dracut; and Carol Archibault, of Chelmsford.
She was the mother of the late Theresa Levasseur, and sister of the late George Page and Blanche O’Leary.
Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 8th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to follow at 12 noon at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH, Lowell.
