Obituary

Roger C. Blake, 80, of Atkinson, NH died Saturday, November 05, 2005 at the Palms of Ft. Myers in Ft. Myers, FL. Mr. Blake was born in Williamstown, MA on October 6, 1925 a son of the late Russell R. and Olive (Heap) Blake. A resident of Atkinson for 37 years, Mr. Blake also was a winter resident of St. Petersburg and Ft. Myers, FL. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII in the Fighting 69th Division of WWI fame. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Blake loved dogs and enjoyed playing his guitar and cooking. He also was an oil painting artist; a local homebuilder for many years and above all, was very devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen P. (Barkhouse) Blake of Atkinson, a daughter, Nancy J. Blake and her partner, George W. Ladd of Londonderry, NH, a son, Richard Allen Blake and his wife, Dawn of Lehigh Acres, FL, five grandchildren, Lisa B. Darling of Fremont, NH, Amy L. Ternullo-Pearson of Somersworth, NH, Kelly E. French of Sharon, MA, Christopher A. Blake and Lauren M. Blake both of Naples, FL, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Blake was predeceased by his three brothers: Paul E. Blake, Russell R. Blake, and Burton J. Blake.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 12th at 10:00 AM at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Following cremation, burial will follow in the West Hampstead Cemetery, West Hampstead, NH. Calling hours were held Friday, November 11th from 6 – 8 PM in the funeral home.
