Herbert S. Patchell of Natick, MA died March 3, 2018 at the age of 80. Born in Malden, he received his Master's degree at Boston University and did doctoral work at Drew University. He taught philosophy at Northeastern and was an instructor for many, many years at the Boston Center for Adult Education and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. Herb had many loyal students who attended his classes for years. He was instrumental in the early development of the Massachusetts Association of Older Americans. He spent his life advocating for the equal rights and protection under law for all people. Herb leaves behind many loving friends and family.
