Helen C. (Black) Parenteau, age 92, of Norton, formerly of Easton, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond N. Parenteau who died in 1972.
Born in Taunton, MA on February 8, 1926, she was a loving daughter of the late William and Helen (Currie) Black.
Helen grew up and was educated in Taunton. She had made her home in Norton for the past thirty-eight years and previously resided in Easton. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Parenteau had been employed as a welder and solderer at the former Codex Corporation in Mansfield.
Helen’s favorite times by far were those spent with her adoring family. She was a member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton and the enjoyed spending time with friends at the Norton Senior Center. Her hobbies and talents included knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her devoted children Thomas Parenteau of New Hampshire, Jeffrey Parenteau and his wife Lorrie of Arizona, David Parenteau of Norton, Sherrie Parenteau of Pennsylvania and Penny Parenteau of Holbrook. She was the dear sister of George Black of Illinois, Rose Gould of Florida, D. James Black of Iowa, and the late Ruth Stafford, Robert Black, Beverly Williams, Dorothy Nason and William Black. She was the cherished grandmother of Kevin Parenteau of Arizona, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of her life on a date and place to be announced. Burial will take privately at South Easton Cemetery in Easton.
