Obituary

SALEM- Florence M. (Serwatka) Bishop, 76, wife of Erwin E. Bishop of Salem, died Thursday evening, November 15, 2001 at her residence following a long illness.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Stella (Glowacz) Serwatka. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and attended Burdett School of Business in Lynn.

A resident of Salem for the past 54 years, she was a parishioner of the St Thomas the Apostle Church and a past president of the St Thomas the Apostle Mothers Club.

Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was employed by General Electric for 30 years, first in Lynn and later in Wilmington.

Besides her husband, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susan L. and Robert Arnold of Wakefield, two grandchildren, Lindsy B. Arnold and Bobby Arnold, both of Wakefield, one brother, Charles Serwatka of Lynn, one nephew Chester and his wife Irene Bishop and their daughters, Sarah and Lauren Bishop, all of Rowley. She was the sister of the late Edwin Serwatka.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2001 at 8 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 am at the St Thomas The Apostle Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting Hours are Sunday from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. For those who desire, donations may be made in her memory to the North Shore Cancer Center c/o North Shore Medical Center, 81 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970 or to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
