Obituary

Mary Frances (Thomas) Fisk of Needham and South Yarmouth, formerly of Dedham died on Wednesday November 2, 2005 at the Stone Institute in Newton Upper Falls. She was 89 years old. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Rosalie (Day) and Luther Thomas. While working for the Continental Gin Company as executive secretary to the president, Mrs. Fisk met her husband George R. Fisk who died in 1971. In 1949 the Fisk’s moved from Alabama to Boston and in 1951 settled in Dedham. Mrs. Fisk worked as a secretary for the Rustcraft Greeting Card Company until her retirement. Upon retiring, she moved to South Yarmouth and became an active member of the senior community for over 20 years. For the last 9 years, Mrs. Fisk was a resident of the Stone Institute in Newton Upper Falls. Her children would like to thank the staff of Stone Institute for the loving care they gave to their mother during her years at Stone. The beloved wife of the late George R. Fisk, she was the dear mother of Allan T. and his wife Darlene of Needham, Marie E. Moan and her husband Kenneth of Manassas, VA, Julia A. Mosley and her husband Raymond of Cheverly, MD and Raymond P. and his wife Sue Ann of Norton. Sister of James L. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth of Pell City, Alabama. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also survived by 3 nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Sunday November 6th at 4 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM prior to the service. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary Frances’ name may be made to the Stone Institute 277 Eliott Street, Newton Upper Falls 02464.
