Mr. Philip N. Carcione, age 71, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away suddenly and unexpected at his home, February 17, 2018. He was the beloved husband for nearly fifty years of Maryann (Keating) Carcione. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Solly J. and Divina (Petrone) Carcione.
Philip was raised in Medford and was a 1964 graduate of the Medford Vocational High School. He honorably served in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Philip worked in the printing industry for over thirty years and retired as the Vice President of Operations of the Bowne of Boston Financial Printing Co. In his leisure time he enjoyed freshwater fishing, writing poetry, and was an avid golfer. Over the years together with his beloved wife Maryann, they enjoyed traveling, Jamaica being one of their favorite destinations. Philip was a member of the Woburn V.F.W. Post.
Along with his wife Maryann, Philip is survived by his sons, Douglas Carcione and his wife Lisa of Billerica, Gregory Carcione and his wife Lisa of Reading. He was the loving grandfather of Kaylee and Isabella Carcione of Billerica, Max and Lucas Carcione of Reading. Cherished brother of Steve Carcione and his wife Kathy of Woburn. He is further survived by his favorite uncle, Vincent Carcione of Everett, cousin Madge D'Ambrosio of Stoneham, nieces Dawn Sullivan, Tina DeAlmida, Lisa Carcione and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, February 22nd, at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
