Obituary

Charles Noel (“Noel”) Saint-Amour died on February 11, 2018 in Quincy, Massachusetts following a brief illness. He was 82.
Noel was born on January 5, 1936 in Newcastle, Pennsylvania to his parents, Dorothy and Robinson Saint-Amour. He graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1958. He started his career in Huntington, West Virginia at Nichols Steel and later moved on to Carpenter Technologies in Reading, Pennsylvania. Noel had five children, Michael, Eric, AnneMarie, Teresa (“Terri”) and James. In 1976, the family relocated to New Hartford, New York, where Noel was employed by Special Metals Corporation. He finished his career working at Titanium Metals Corporation in Toronto, Ohio and residing outside of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, Audrey Saint-Amour. Noel retired in 2000 and relocated with Audrey to Hendersonville, North Carolina. In 2015, six years after his wife’s death, Noel relocated to the Boston area to be near his son, Eric and his family. He lived under the loving and watchful care of Monica Whitehorne until this past January. Noel was an avid reader throughout his life, enjoying novels as well as magazines, and once almost absconded with his granddaughter’s beloved Harry Potter novel. As a young boy, Noel loved fishing, and he played soccer in college as a fullback. During his working days, Noel enjoyed playing golf in leagues with his colleagues, and as a father, he spent much time taking his children to their various sporting events and cheering them on (even when he, admittedly, did not always understand the rules of the game). Mr. Saint-Amour is survived by his children, Michael and his wife Geneva, formerly from Clarkdale, Arizona; Eric and his wife, Judi from Dedham, Massachusetts; Anne Marie McLaughlin and her husband, Steven from Kalamazoo, Michigan; Terri from Albuquerque, New Mexico; and James and his wife, Gabi from Brooklyn, New York. Noel was also a devoted grandfather to Aaron Saint-Amour and his fiancé, Lily; Justin Saint-Amour and his wife, Shae; and Ryan Saint-Amour and his wife, Melody from Arizona; Sean, Jack and Katie McLaughlin from Michigan; and Luke and Renee Saint-Amour from Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; and his brother, Daniel. A memorial will be held on Saturday, March 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Brady and Fallon Funeral Home, 10 Tower Street in Boston. Friends and family respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations may be sent to your charity of choice in Charles Noel Saint-Amour's name.
