Obituary

Mary G. Seluk, 52 of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Seluk was born in Chester, PA on August 18, 1953, a daughter of Helen Mary (Cripps) Pettengill and the late Miles S. Pettengill. She was a resident of Derry for the past 10 years, formerly living in Prospect Park, PA. Mrs. Seluk graduated from Notre Dame High School, in Moylan, PA, class of 1971. She also graduated from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA and also received her BS from Widener University in Chester, PA. Mrs. Seluk worked as a head nurse at the Lankenau Hospital for several years before becoming an occupational nurse for several years with the Scott Paper Company in Philadelphia. After relocating to NH she was employed by Osram Sylvania, Inc as an occupational nurse in Hillsboro, NH and then at the corporate offices in Danvers, MA. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed hiking, biking, running and also sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Dan C. Seluk of Derry, four children, Daniel C. Seluk, Jr. of Houston, TX, Matthew E. Seluk and Michael D. Seluk, both of Fort Myers, FL and Katherine M. Bellemare of Manchester, NH, a granddaughter, Shelby A. Bellemare of Manchester, her mother, Helen Mary Pettengill of Brookhaven, PA, seven sisters, Suzanne M. McKinney of Gainesville, GA, Virginia A. Prather of Winchester, VA, Marion I. Murdock of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Helen P. Fachet of Huntsville, AL, Olivia S. Maple of Mundelein, IL, Christine E. McDevitt of Prospect Park, PA and Barbara J. Foster of Belmont, NH, three brothers, Myles S. Pettengill of Philadelphia, Patrick H. Pettengill of Tega Cay, SC and Michael A. Pettengill of Londonderry, NH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 5th from 4:30-8:30 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Following the calling hours in Derry, NH relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Life Celebration on Tuesday night 7-9PM and Wednesday 8:15 - 9:15AM at The James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home of Morton, 746 Kedron Ave., (Rte. 420) Ridley Twp., PA. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00AM at St. Madeline Church, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA. The burial will be in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
