Katelyn A. Contraros, 19, of Derry, NH died Monday, October 31, 2005 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Windham, NH on Sunday evening. She was born on November 4, 1985 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of Robert J. and Deborah (Jarek) Contraros Sr. and had lived in Derry all of her life. She was employed as a guest service clerk by the Babies-R-Us store in Salem and as an attendant at the carrousel at the Rockingham Mall also in Salem. Katelyn had attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry and excelled in art. To those who knew her, Katelyn was a thoughtful, caring person with a “big heart” who treated everyone as someone special. She especially enjoyed caring for children.
In addition to her parents of Derry, family members include a brother, Robert J. Contraros Jr. of Derry, her maternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Jarek of Pelham, NH, her paternal grandmother, Laura Contraros of Derry, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours were on Friday from 4 to 8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral liturgy was celebrated on Saturday at 2 PM in Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Rd., E. Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
