SALEM- Stanley R. “Rudy” Blenkhorn, 68 years, of 205 Bridge St., Salem died Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at Salem Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a train accident at the Salem Depot.
Mr. Blenkhorn was born in Salem, son of the late Ellsworth and Gladys (Hebb) Blenkhorn and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a member of the Elks, B.P.O.E. #1309 in Beverly and was an active bowler on their league. He was also a member of the Franco American Club and the American Legion, Herman A. Spear Post #331 both in Beverly.
He is survived by a brother and his wife, Robert E. and Patricia Blenkhorn of Salem; two sisters, Elsie M. Murphy and L. Eleanor Twombly both of Salem; a close family friend, Peter Romanuk of Peabody; four nephews, four nieces and eleven grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late Howard, Leonard and Curtis Blenkhorn.
His funeral will be held Monday, November 19, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square, East, by Salem Common, Salem. The Rev. G. Kenneth Steigler, Pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the North Shore Elder Services, 152 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
