Nellie K. (Abbott) Geisser, 89 of Sandown, NH died Monday October 31, 2005 at the Villa Crest Retirement Center, Manchester, NH following a brief illness. Mrs. Geisser was born in Clinton, MA on March 10, 1916 a daughter of the late Fred and Millie (Kindred) Abbott. She graduated from Raymond High School in Raymond, NH. She was a resident of Sandown for 71 years was a past member of the West Hampstead Methodist Church and St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Sandown. Mrs. Geisser was involved in the Sandown school system and helped to start the school lunch program that she ran for 16 years. She also served for 18 years on the Sandown School Board. She was honored in the International Year of the Child for her contributions to the children of Sandown. She held memberships in the Sixty Plus Club and was a 4-H Club Leader having received the Good Citizenship Award in 1988.
She is survived by two daughters, June Wentworth and her husband David of Gonvick, MN, Betty Noel and her husband Real Jr. of Sandown, three sons, John Geisser III and his wife Nancy of Exeter, NH, Carl Geisser and his wife Jerri of Clinton, AR, Paul Geisser and his wife Joanne of Sandown, 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John A. Geisser Jr. in 1998.
Funeral services were held on Friday November 4th at 10:00 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Burial followed in the West Hampstead Cemetery, W. Hampstead. Calling hours were on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM in the funeral home.
