With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing on January 24, 2018 of Alice (Jill) Landsberg Maulsby, age 95, of Marlborough, MA. Jill was born in New York City and grew up in Manhattan and in Mamaroneck, NY. She graduated from New Rochelle NY High School and from Pine Manor Junior College in Wellesley, MA. She married her high school sweetheart, Eldridge (Udge) Maulsby on May 15, 1943. To know her was to love her. She was one of a kind, and no one can ever replace her. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Kathryn (Kitty) Cronin Landsberg; father Mortimer M. Landsberg; sister Eugenia Landsberg Archer; brother Mortimer W. Landsberg; twin brother John (Jack) Landsberg, who was a Marine Corp pilot, killed in World War II at the age of 22; and her beloved Udge, who died on April 25, 2013, 3 weeks shy of their 70th anniversary. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ellen (Cindy) Maulsby Ording of New Canaan, CT and her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth (Betsy) Maulsby Menser and Frank Menser of Sugarloaf Shores, FL and Harwich, MA. She is the cherished “Gaga” to her grandchildren Kate Menser Hughey of Charlotte, NC; Kelly Menser Wolf (husband JR) of Asheville, NC; Kristian Ording (wife Tanya) of Ridgefield, CT; and Kari Ording Janapareddi (husband Vijay) of Los Altos, CA, and also to her 6 long-awaited and adored great-grandchildren. Several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and - nephews, cousins and one priceless godson survive as well. The family would like to thank the staff at New Horizons Assisted Living in Marlborough, MA where Jill and Udge made their home since 2009. Our deepest gratitude and love go to Agnes, Mom’s devoted home health aide who provided constant care and friendship for the last 2+ years of her life. Like her beloved Udge before her, Jill donated her body to the UMass Medical School Anatomical Gift Program. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. To honor Jill’s memory, please consider making a donation to her favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, or www.stjude.org.
