Obituary

Francis R. “Frank” Soucy, 86, of Danvers, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington Tuesday, January 23, 2018. He was the devoted husband of Eleanor J. (Dunajski) Soucy, his “bride,” and the love of his life with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph A and Yvonne (Aylwin) Soucy. Frank was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the recipient of the Bronze Star. Following his tour of duty he returned to Salem and was employed at for Sylvania for many years.
Frank loved to exercise, participating in 5K runs all over the North Shore, as well as racquetball. Frank and Eleanor enjoyed traveling abroad to Europe. California, Seattle and Alaska were frequent destinations visiting family, also many national parks across the country. Frank enjoyed time spent at the Danvers Senior Center playing cards with his poker buddies.
Frank was affected in his later years with Parkinson’s, fought the battle courageously and never gave up. He was never one to complain and kept a positive attitude throughout his life.
Frank’s grandchildren and their accomplishments early in their lives were a great source of pride to him.
In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by their daughter, Deborah Burgy of Camano Island, WA, their son, Frank Jr. and his wife Diane Soucy of Danvers, six grandchildren Gus & Stephanie Soucy of California, Frank Soucy, III and Joseph Soucy, both of Danvers, Zachary Burgy, Aaron and his wife Jen Burgy and their daughter Alexa, all of Washington, a sister, Claire Gauthier of Salem, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Soucy of California, Sister-in-law, Pat Soucy of Danvers, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sons, Philip J. Soucy, David J. Soucy and brother Norman Soucy.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1A] Salem on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM to be followed by his Memorial Service in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Deacon Leo Martin to officiate. Military honors will follow in the funeral home.
