Obituary

Billy Davis “Bill” Riley, age 82, died January 18, 2018 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born February 1, 1935 in Itawamba County, MS to the late Noonan Dallas and Eva Davis Riley. Early in his life, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bill had a servant’s heart and for many years continued to serve his fellow man as a Funeral Director, first for Browning Funeral Home, and most recently for Seven Oaks Funeral Home. He also served as a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Water Valley. His hobby for many years was woodworking and frame making and he sold his creations under the name of "Handy Gandy Frames". However, he often said his greatest accomplishment was his children.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 10:00 AM and services will follow at 12:00 Noon in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Lowell Edwards, Charlie Edwards, Craig Hart, Lane Hart, Cole Camp and Ron Hart serving as pallbearers.

He is survived by two daughters and one son, Trina (Jamey) Finley of Saltillo, MS, Denise (Charles) Boxx of Coffeeville, MS, and Scott Riley of Chattanooga, TN. Grandchildren include Hanna (Ian) Hammond, Dallas (Emily) Finley, Beth (Sean) Haggerty, Leah Boxx, Sarah Boxx and Cullen Claybo.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Riley, and his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia “Pat Pat” Hart Riley.
