Obituary

Ive Bohannon, 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, October 29, 2005, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 31, 2005, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Royce Hulett and Rev. Jimmy Cargile officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 9:00 Sunday evening.

Mr. Bohannon was born June 13, 1936, in Telfair County, Georgia, to the late Bill and Lucy Williams Bohannon. He graduated from Telfair County High School in 1955. A former resident of Jacksonville, Florida and Eastman, GA, Mr. Bohannon had lived in the community since 1967. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served 3 years in Germany. He was retired meat market manager with 35 years of service to Piggly Wiggly and also worked part-time in the Wal-Mart Meat Department. He was a member of the American Legion and a member and active deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Mr. Bohannon is survived by his wife of 47 years: Myrtle Cato Bohannon of Fitzgerald; son: Dewayne Bohannon of Columbia, SC; daughter: Denise Ramirez of Columbus; four grandsons: Nick Ramirez, Colby, Cameron, and Carson Bohannon; two nephews: Ted and Billy Jinright; and two nieces: Patsy Gladden and Connie Mixon. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Wylene Bohannon and Jewette Jinright.
