
Mark Edward Porter, 53 passed away peacefully on Thursday January 4, 2018 after an
unexpected Illness. He leaves his spouse of 12 years, Jean “Jack” Turcotte; his dog and best friend, Lola both of Auburn; his brother, Geoffrey Porter and his wife, Debra; nephews, Timothy Porter and Daniel Roy all of Shrewsbury; David Turcotte, Jean Turcotte and Joshua Turcotte all of Rhode Island; many beautiful grandchildren and loving friends here and relatives back in England.
He was born in Westbury, New York the son of the late Douglas S. and Pamela V. (Taylor) Porter and moved to Central Massachusetts in 1965. Mark resided in Northborough from 1970 until after his graduation from Algonquin Regional High School in 1982. After graduations, Mark went on to study Hotel Management at Johnson and Wales in Providence, RI. Mark returned to the area where he managed the family owned business, Shrewsbury Tanorama for 25 years. In 2008, Mark became a Realtor and worked at several area real estate agencies, most recently with Re/Max Professional Associates of Auburn.
Mark and Jack enjoyed life to the fullest traveling to many Caribbean Islands. He had a love of music and attended many concerts. Mark recently fulfilled his lifelong dream of meeting Cher in person being her greatest fan. Cher agreed to autograph his back and had Cher’s signature tattooed on his back the very next day
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date where a charity will be announced for donations to be made in Mark’s memory. Please omit flowers.
