Iracema DeLacerda, 91, of New Bedford died Thursday October 27, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Jose DaRosa Lemos.
Born in Pico, Azores, the daughter of the late Manuel Pereira DeLacerda and Maria (Garcia) DeLacerda, she lived in Pico for most of her life before moving to New Bedford in 1988.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Maria J. DaRosa of New Bedford and Albertina DaCosta of Canada; a son, Manuel DaRosa Lemos of Pico; a sister, Maria Pereira of Pico; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday October 29, 2005 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday October 28, 2005 from 5-9 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
