New Bedford Margaret Sylvia Souza aged 94 years, passed away October 25, 2005, at St. Lukes Hospital. She was the wife of the late George Souza, Survivors include; a Son Retired Air Force Col. George Souza II and his wife Marisa of Alexandria VA.. and a Daughter Sr. Mary Margaret Souza a Sister of St, Dorothy at Our Lady of Fatima Convent and Principal of Our Lady of Fatima High School in Warren R.I., 3 Grandsons Paul Souza of Jericho VT, Peter Souza of Ashburn VA, and Christopher Souza of Forest Hill, MD., 6 Great-Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews, She was a Sister of the late Florence Vasconcellos, Elsie Sylvia, Manuel , Joseph A., Joaquim and Frank Sylvia
Mrs. Souza was born in New Bedford, MA. She was a Daughter of the late Joseph A. and Maria(Garcia) Sylvia . Mrs. Souza was very active in Church affairs joining the choir at age 7, later becoming the Organist and Choir Director and also a member of the Mt. Carmel Woman’s Club and was also Past President of the Coyle Mothers Club and the Villa Fatima Helpers in Taunton
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday October 29, 2005 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M., on Friday October 28, 2005 at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St
