Obituary

Joseph A. Caouette, 54, of New Bedford died Monday October 24, 2005 at Boston Medical Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Corrine (Pelletier) Caouette.

Born in Misawa, Japan, the son of the late Albert and Louise (Correia) Caouette, he lived in Fall River and Tiverton, before moving to New Bedford 20 years ago.

Mr. Caouette was formerly employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital Emergency Room until his retirement.

He was a graduate of Bristol Community College. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and swimming. He had been a Boy Scout leader.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Charlene Amaral Menje and her husband Jaramie of Norwich, CT, and Rebekah Caouette of New Bedford; a brother, Omer Caouette of Fall River; three sisters, Mary Isham of Plattsburg, NY, Margaret Smith and Rose Marie Caouette, both of Fall River, a granddaughter, Caitlin Menje; and many nieces and nephews.

His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Ocotber 29, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive visitors prior to the service from 10AM-12 Noon.
