Dorothy (Barao) Pedro, 94, of New Bedford passed away at her daughter's home on Sunday December 24, 2017. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Pedro.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alves and Rosella (Connors) Barao, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Mrs. Pedro was formerly employed as a cafeteria cashier at New Bedford High School until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Silva of New Bedford; her grandson, Paul M. Silva; her granddaughter, Melissa M. Boucher; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
She was the mother of the late Kenneth M. Pedro, mother-in-law of the late Herbert M. Silva and Gail Pedro, and sister of the late Eleanor Gracie and Alvaro Barao.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday Dec. 29th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 AM.
