WEST BRIDGEWATER - Thomas W. Dunlevy Sr., 63, of West Bridgewater died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Anthony) Dunlevy.
Born May 31, 1942, in Brockton, he was the son of Charlotte (Batchelder) Dunlevy of Grand Ledge, MI, and the late William C. Dunlevy.
He was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School and attended Massasoit Community College in Brockton.
Mr. Dunlevy was in the U.S. Coast Guards during the Vietnam War.
He was a retired lieutenant with the West Bridgewater Fire Department and a member of the West Bridgewater Permanent Fire Fighters Assoc.
Mr. Dunlevy was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Bridgewater, where he was a junior warden and helped in the up-keep of Trinity Cemetery.
He volunteered his time to play Santa for the West Bridgewater P.T.O. and preschools.
Mr. Dunlevy was a member of the Paul Revere Masonic Lodge of Brockton, Plymouth County Forest Warden Assoc., Red Knights Motorcycle Club and Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.
He was also a troop leader of the Boy Scout Troop 25 in W. Bridgewater and enjoyed woodworking and auto mechanics.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Thomas W. Jr. and his wife Holly of Lakeville, Paul and his wife Linda of Marbury, MD, and Donna Pipes and her husband Randolph of Whitman; two sisters, Janice Dunlevy of Dorchester and Deanna Hanieski of Grand Ledge, MI; a son-in-law, Kenneth Berry of West Bridgewater; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Roberta Berry, grandfather of the late Brendan Dunlevy and father-in-law of the late Karen Dunlevy.
His funeral service will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church Friday at 9 am. Visiting hours in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Thursday 4-8 pm. with a Masonic service at 7 pm. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
