Obituary


Elmer L.”Sam” Braddock 78, of Halifax, passed away on December 13th in the Wingate at Sliver Lake, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Judith A. (Deming) Braddock.

Sam was born in Brockton, son of the late Elmer L. and Edna M. (Annis) Braddock and was a graduate of Whitman High.

He was a longtime resident of Halifax where, he and his wife ran the Cedar Hedge Farm, selling, hay and grain for many years. He also drove a milk truck for years. Sam loved country music.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl L. Rollock of Acushnet, Dawn A. Devine of Halifax, Hope J. Hebb of VA and Heather J. Hirtle of Pembroke; also 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Mark W. Braddock and brother of the late Diane Ecklund.

His visitation will be held on Monday December 18th in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rt 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman, from 10:00AM -12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax at 12:30PM.
