Obituary

Belmont------Ellen M. Peterson 89, of Rogers Road died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, surrounded by her loving family.

Ellen was born April 1, 1928 in Germantown, Pennsylvania daughter to late Ambrose and Viola (Conlin) McGough. She was a homemaker and spent many years RV traveling with her husband until her health kept her home in 2012. Ellen enjoyed western movies, her “stories” (soap operas), cooking and was notorious for her tuna fish sandwiches and endless supply of cookies. Above all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren was most important to her.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Raymond Peterson, USCG Retired; a daughter, Mary Ellen Blackey of Belmont; three sons, Carl Peterson and his wife, Dianne, Charles Peterson and his wife, Ann all of Belmont and Chris Peterson of Gilmanton; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Renee, Rhonda, Jerrica, TJ, Jamie, Colleen, Jessica,Elizabeth, Christopher, Hayden and Ashleigh; seventeen great- grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas McGough and his wife, Jackie of Moorestown, NJ and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her infant son, Raymond "Pete" T. Peterson III; four brothers, James, Nicholas, Ambrose and Eugene; five sisters, Gertrude, Bernice, Patricia, Viola and Elaine and her son-in-law, Timothy W. Blackey.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Gabriel Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 16 Chestnut Street Tilton, NH 03276.

Burial will follow at 11:30am at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
