Adeline N. (Lessa) Santos, 90, of New Bedford died October 22, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late John M. "Johnny Trombone" Santos.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clotilde (Silva) Lessa, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Santos was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
She was a devoted mother and provider for her children.
Survivors include seven sons, John M. Santos, Jr., Robert L. Santos, Russell A. Santos, Michael J. Santos, Richard D. Santos, and David B. Santos all of New Bedford and Stephen W. Santos of Vacaville, CA; two daughters, Joan A. "Sookie" Pina and Karen Medina, both of New Bedford; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Donald Lessa, grandmother of the late Mark J. Santos and Sherry A. Pina, and sister of the late Joseph Lessa, Albert Lessa, Mary Pires, John Lessa and Agnes Rose, her twin.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, October 25th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday, October 24th from 5-8 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
