Irene V. (Vieira) Goncalo. Age 90.Wife of Florimundo “Florie” Goncalo. Residence 2446 Highland Ave., formerly of 215 George St., Fall River, and of North Barker Heights, Tiverton., RI.
Died Friday in Fall River, MA. Born in Fall River, MA. Daughter of the late Manuel Vieira and the late Guilhermina(Carvalho) Vieira. She was a Fall River resident for most of her life. She was the Owner of Irene’s Lingerie Shoppe in the Academy Building in Fall River. In her later years, she was employed in the Business Office at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was a member of St. Michael Church.
She is survived by One Daughter:Mrs. Gerald(Lillian)Silvia, owners of the former Americana Travel Company of Fall River. One Sister: Deolinda “Lena” Reis formerly of Fall River, MA. Several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Joseph and Norbert Vieira, Albertina Andrade, Belmira Amaral,Maria Medeiros, Olive Perry, and Guilhermina “Kitty” Rapoza.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No.Main St., on Tuesday at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St., Fall River, Ma. at 11:00 AM. Internment to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. CALLING HOURS MONDAY 4-8 P.M.
