NATICK: William S. Powell, of Natick passed away on December 1, 2016 at age 96.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helena (Lee) Powell, and leaves many nieces & nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews and great-grand-nieces & great-grand-nephews.
Born in Sanbornville, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Stephen and Stella (Mingin) Powell. Mr. Powell served as a Sergeant in the US Army in France during World War II. He owned and managed the William S. Powell Insurance Agency and also represented Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company for over 50 years. Mr. Powell attended Boston University and graduated from Bentley School of Accounting, now Bentley University, in 1950.
A private funeral Mass was held on December 5, 2016 at St. Zepherin’s Catholic Church in Cochituate Village, Wayland followed by interment in the Powell family lot in St. Zepherin’s Catholic Cemetery in Cochituate Village, Wayland.
