Bertha L. A. (Wilson) Alexander was born in Brookline. MA. to the parents of Janie (Johnson) Wilson and Winfield N. Wilson. She was the 2"" girl and 4"' child of six children Lelia, Robert, Arthur, (Bertha), Gary, and Deborah. She graduated from Dorchester High School, where she received her high school diploma and also met some of her lifelong friends. After graduating high school, she went to work at Blue Cross/Blue Shield for more than 20 years in different positions and job titles. She also met and married her late husband Lawrence Alexander Sr. then had a son Lawrence Shawn Alexander Jr. affectionately known as "Big Shawn". Bertha and Lawrence Sr. AKA "Alkie" would have been married over 44 years.
After leaving Blue Cross/Blue Shield, I believe Bertha found her dream job as a Family Advocate at the Family Service Association of Greater Boston. Bertha was a social butterfly and could speak and relate to people old and young easily. She seemed to know just about everybody! Whether it was family or friends everyone stopped by the house. She was very easy to talk to and always gave advice, even if you didn't want it. She also helped raise many of her family members, opening up her home to those in need, and looking out for her community. Her love for all was felt and when she passed, we were all heartbroken.
Her sister Lelia took care of her, shopped with her, and spoiled her too. Her faithful friends Jacque, Barbara, Malinda, Loretta, and Eva have been and stood by her for over 50 years. Whether you were her only son, a sibling, step child, grandchild, relative, or friend. Bertha was well loved and she loved in return.
After fighting cancer and being the best advocate for herself for 10 years, she succumbed to her illness. We will all miss Bertha saying: "Sally", "Susie Q", "Charlie", and "Hey girl!" just to name a few of the things she would call you. We love you, rest easy, and God is and will take care of the rest. Bertha Leaves to Mourn: Lelia (Wilson) Jones- sister, Jacqueline Wilson-sister, Gary Wilson - brother (Sarah G), Deborah Wilson- sister, Lawrence Shawn Alexander Jr.- son, Lawrence Shawn Alexander III — grandson, Logan Alexander -grandson, stepchildren - Joel Dennis, Charnya Thompson, Ada Dennis. Step-grandchildren - Joel, Dennis Jr., Reisha Dennis, Natasha Dennis, Jade Wilson, Javon Wright, Charnya V. Dennis, Christopher Wilson, Silas and Treasure, step-great-grandchildren. Nephews - Kevin and Darnell Wilson, Ray Lewis and Brian Alexander, Nieces — Denlse, Sherry, and Shauntae Wilson. Great nieces Tanisha and Kiara Wilson. Great nephew John Wilson.

Funeral services on Monday November 27, 2017 from 9 AM to 12 noon at the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale.
