LOUISE (SPEARMAN) LUTHER , age 83, a resident of Hingham for over 50 years, died on Monday, Oct. 17th at her home after a brief illness. Mrs. Luther was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and was a graduate of George Washington University. A homemaker, she lived in Washington D.C. for many years before coming to Hingham in 1952.
She was a Past President of the Hingham League of Women Voters, a Life Member of the Hingham Historical Society, an Honorary Member of the Garden Club of Hingham, a Life Member of the Massachusetts Federation of Garden Clubs and a Master Judge Emeritus of the National Council of State Garden Clubs.
Wife of the late Richmond Gladding Luther, she leaves her daughter, Lynda Luther Watt of LaPorte, Indiana, and a grandson, Nathan Luther Emerson of Dallax, Texas. Also survived by one aunt, two nieces, one nephew, three grandnieces and three grandnephews.
The Funeral Services and Interment are to be private. Visiting hours and flowers omitted by request.
