Obituary

John Lambergs, age 68, of Woburn passed away Monday, October 17th, following a lengthy illness. Born in Jelgava, Latvia he was the son of the late Valdemars and Marja (Urnezus) Lambergs.

Mr. Lambergs owned and operated the Metro Sewer Service of Woburn for over 25 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan and was a member of MENSA. Mr. Lambergs was a very generous man and sponsored a number of children overseas throughout the years. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.

Mr. Lambergs is survived by his son John J. Lambergs and his wife Joele, daughter, Ann-Marie R. Hanley and her husband Bill of Acton, and Stepson Sean McLatchy of Chelmsford. He is also survived by two grandsons, Jacob W. Hanley and Kyle B. Lambergs. He was the former husband of Elaine McLatchy of Burlington and Rita Tomes of Acton. He is further survived by his brothers, Aristides of Westwood, Sylvestor of Medfield and Maris Lambergs of Southboro.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Thursday, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
