Ida Walker Hogan, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, (Formerly of Irwinville) died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Life Care Center, Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sonny Pate and Rev. John K. Mobley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hogan was born December 27, 1918, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Archie and Emma Dixon Walker. She lived in Ben Hill County and Irwin County all of her life. Mrs. Hogan was a 1937 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and was a graduate of Freeman Business College in Albany, Georgia. She was a retired Bookkeeper, having worked for the Fitzgerald Hebrew Alliance and Carl Smith in Fitzgerald and First State Bank of Albany. She was a member of the Irwinville Baptist Church and the Do Nothing Club.
She is survived by two sisters: Agnes Davis and Elsie Taylor, both of Fitzgerald and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hogan was preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Hogan, four brothers, Marcus Walker, Ernest Walker, Bob Walker, and Melvin Walker; and a sister, Becky Foster.
