Aime R. Cardinal, 77, of 28 Tee Dee Dr., Belmont died June 11, 2002 in his residence after a long illness. He was born in Laconia on May 5, 1925, the son of George J. and Aurore (Marcoux) Cardinal. He had resided in Laconia for most of his life prior to moving to Belmont several years ago.
Mr. Cardinal served in the US Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was employed as a plumber by the J.H. Valliere Plumbing & Heating Company for more than 25 years.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia.
Family members include his wife Barbara Cardinal of Belmont; a step-daughter, Donna Duso of Laconia; two step-sons, Charles Clough of Belmont and Wayne Clough of Laconia; seven grandchildren; a brother, Reverend Maurice Cardinal of Hawaii; three sisters, Rachel Giguere of Belmont, Grace Dubreuil of Laconia and Marcelle Defosses of Concord; nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, Laconia at a later date. Following cremation, urn burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber are the funeral directors.
