WORCESTER-Mary A. Harney, 84, of Paxton died Sunday, October 16th in Radius Healthcare Center. She leaves a brother; William T. Harney of Auburn, 2 sisters; Eleanora Russell of Holden, Teresa Harney, with whom she lived in Paxton, and several nephews and nieces. 2 brothers; Gregory and Gerard Harney, and a sister; Margaret Morse predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Francisco) Harney, Jr. and was a graduate of Girls Trade School. Ms. Harney worked as a housekeeper for St. Vincent Hospital and Dr. McGauley’s Office in Paxton for many years. Also, she worked in the food department for Paul Revere Life Insurance, Co. and was a longtime school crossing guard in Paxton. She was a member of the Paxton Council on Aging, the Paxton American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Caravan Club and enjoyed frequent trips to Ireland.
The funeral is Tuesday, October 18th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Avenue in Paxton. Burial to follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. A calling hour will be from 8:30 until 9:30 the morning of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton, MA 01612.
