Eugene D. Pimentel, 55, of Smithfield died Saturday October 21, 2017 at home. He was the husband of Deborah M. (Lapierre) Pimentel.
Born in the Azores, Portugal he was a son of Blandina (DaCosta) Lima Pimentel and the late Jose D. Pimentel. He came to the United States as a child and lived in Warren for many years before moving to Smithfield.
He was employed as a steel rule dye maker and mechanic.
Eugene was a hardworking man who cherished his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for animals especially his dogs. He also enjoyed fishing and was a big baseball fan having played, coached and followed the national pastime.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a son Joshua Pimentel and two daughters Nicole Pimentel and Rachel McNeil. He was the grandfather of Noelle and Andrea Maltais and Mason McNeil. He was the brother of Gilda F. Church and the late Joseph M. Pimentel.
Visiting hours are Friday from 4:00-7:30 pm with a service at 7:30 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
