Asterios "Stelio" Panagiotopoulos, 86, of Dartmouth died October 18, 2017 peacefully at Hathaway Manor after a period of declining health.
He was the husband of Vasiliki (Karagiovani) Panagiotopoulos, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, the son of the late George and Polyxeni (Aggelidou) Panagiotopoulos, he has lived in Dartmouth since 1986.
He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos was the founder of Salonika's House of Pizza in New Bedford.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, music and watching soccer.
Survivors include his wife; a son, George Panagiotopoulos and his wife Efrosinis of Dartmouth; a daughter, Jenny Voltatzis and her husband Christos of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Vasiliki Voltatzis, George Voltatzis, Vasiliki Panagiotopoulos and Stelio Panagiotopoulos; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 11 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, October 22nd from 5-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
