Anna Eleanor Nichols Hodges,72, died at Yalobusha General Hospital on Monday, October 10,2005.
Born in Tishomingo County, Mrs. Hodges was the daughter of the late Arlis and Lois Reno Nichols and attended the First Baptist Church of Water Valley. A graduate of Ole Miss, she taught in the West Tallahatchie School District and in the Water Valley School District for years. After retiring, Eleanor worked for the Mechanics Bank and then in the Yalobusha Sheriff's Office for Loyd Defer.
The family will receive friends at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Hal Clark in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Thursday , October 13, 2005, with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges is survived by one daughter, Cheryl N. Stephens of Water Valley, MS: brother, Thomas Nichols of Benton, AR: sister, Jeanette Marchbanks of Grenada, MS: Grandson, Colby Williamson from Alaska.
Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband, Falconer Hodges ( 1987) and brother, Dolan Nichols ( 1988).
