Dominic A. DeFuria, 79 of Somerville died Monday after a brief illness in the Mt. Auburn Hospital Cambridge.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Concordia (LaPorta) DeFuria.
Mr. DeFuria was a Letter Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Somerville for 30 years and retired in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II from 1943 to 1946 as a Tech 4.
Beloved husband of Rose (Beltrami). Devoted father of Donna Wellman of Westford, Michael DeFuria of North Grafton, Karen Ryan of New London, NH, and Richard DeFuria of Acton.Also survived by 10 loving grandchildren. Brother of Ralph DeFuria of Florida, Anthony DeFuria of Peabody, Carmella Caruso of Weston, Helen Kramer of Watertown, and Carpie Giordano of Reading.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford/Somerville, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
