Born November 8, 1970, in Tifton, Leigh was the daughter of Annette McCullough and Gene Googe of Tifton. Leigh grew up in Tifton and graduated from Tift County High School in 1989, where she was an honor graduate and a member of the varsity tennis team. She formed many close friendships in high school which endured throughout her life. After high school, she attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and served as president. She was also active in the Panhellenic Council. Leigh graduated with honors from Georgia in 1993 with a degree in accounting. She began a long and successful career as a CPA, initially with Deloitte & Touche, Bellsouth Network Solutions and Turner Network Sports in Atlanta. In 1996, Leigh returned to her native Tifton and continued her career as a CPA, working with Allen, Pritchett & Bassett and as Finance Director of the Tift County Board of Commissioners.

In 2003, Leigh married Jason Jordan. Leigh was smart, spirited and brave. She was independent and met challenges head on. Throughout her illness, she never lost hope or ceased to focus on the important things in life. She loved people. Above all else, Leigh valued family and friends.

She was a devoted wife and mother, and her two sons were her highest priority. She was a late but enthusiastic convert to deer hunting and frequently joined her husband and sons at their hunting camp. She was an avid supporter of the Tift County Blue Devils football team, where her oldest son Wells plays defensive line. She was among the Tift County faithful in the stands this past Friday to see the Blue Devils take on Parkview in Gwinnett County. She also enjoyed cheering on her son Whit, an avid baseball player in the Tift County Recreation league. Leigh was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Tifton, where she was baptized in 1979. She demonstrated her faith daily through her service to others.

Leigh is survived by her parents, Annette and Gene Googe; her husband Jason; her beloved sons, Wells Austin Scott and Whitley Ross Jordan; her brother and sister-in-law, Trey and Lesee Googe; her nephew, Jack Googe; and nieces, Elizabeth and Susan Googe; her sisters-in-law and their husbands, Courtney and Byron Kelly and LeeAnn and Chris Chaney; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations in memory of Leigh may be made to the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University, 1365 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30322.
