Danny Paulk, 81, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, August 28, 2017, at Ocilla United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Roberson and the Rev. Scott Brenton officiating. Interment will follow in Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Paulk was born January 26, 1936, in New York, New York, to the late Emory G. & Evelyn Megahee Paulk. He was a 1954 graduate of Ocilla High School where he played quarterback on the 1953 state champion football team. He earned his Eagle Scout and was a longtime supporter of Troop 832. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Geology from Emory University. Mr. Paulk owned and operated H & P Feed Supply for over 60 years and was the Cotton States Insurance Agent in Irwin County for 46 years. He was an active member of Ocilla United Methodist Church as well as a dedicated member of the choir.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Amelia Zeigler Paulk; his children, Andy & Pam Paulk and Laurie Paulk, all of Ocilla; grandchildren: Maci Paulk, Jolee Paulk, Drew & Lesley-Anne Paulk, Anslie Paulk, and Larra Johnston; and two brothers, Bobby & Susan Paulk and Jimmy & Faye Paulk, all of Ocilla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Morris Paulk.
