Ann A. (Small) Smith, 76, of Spring Street, died Sunday Oct. 2 in
St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 56 years Joseph B. Smith, two sons Thomas J.
Smith, Sr. and Joseph M. Smith both of Spencer, four daughters Nancy E.
Burdette, Catherine A. Driscoll and Cynthia M. Hayes all of Spencer and
Patricia J. Brazeau of North Brookfield, 14 grandchildren, 8
great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Mrs. Smith was born in Spencer daughter of Lester E. and Catherine (Lee)
Small. She graduated from David Prouty High School where she was Co-Captain
of the Women's Varsity Basketball Team, and had also played Semi-Pro
Basketball. She enjoyed collecting baseball cards, hockey memorabilia and
coins. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
The funeral will be Wednesday Oct. 5 from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL
HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the
Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be in Worcester County
Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from
9:30-10:30 AM in the funeral home.
