Obituary

Theodore H. Hopkins, Jr., 77, of Central Pike, Scituate, died Tuesday, October 4th, at Rhode Island Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Providence, the son of the late Theodore Hopkins, Sr and Thelma (Doloff) Girard. He had been a lifelong resident of Scituate.
Ted was a US Army Veteran, employed by the T.H. Baylis Chemical Company for over 40 years and a firefighter in Scituate for 50 years serving as the Chief of the Chopmist Hill Station for 25 years. He was associated with the RI Fire Chiefs Assoc., and Woonasquatucket Valley Firemans League. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Hamilton #15 and Royal Arch Chapter #8, Pine Tree Gun Club, and Cranston Fish and Game.
Ted leaves his former wife, Audrey Lawton, who together had three children, Brenda Hopkins of Clackamas, OR, the late Charles Hopkins and Theodore Hopkins, III, of Scituate. Also left behind are Douglas Mishler, Lisa Hopkins, five grandchildren as well as a life full of relatives and friends.
His funeral service will be held Friday at 11:30am in the Greenville Baptist Church, 582 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Leukemia Society of RI, 1150 Pontiac Avenue,Suite #1 Cranston, RI 02920.
