Louise (Sostilio) Carreiro, 87, a former supervisor for the William H. Carter Co. in Needham, died Sun Oct 2, 2005 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham Campus.
Born in Newton she had lived in Needham since age 2 and had graduated from Needham High in 1936. She worked for the Carter Company for over 30 years. She was devoted to her family and was an avid gardener of vegetables and flowers.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Joseph F. Carreiro, her sons Robert J. and his wife Marie of Hopkinton, and Donald and his wife Mary of Westwood, his grandchildren Deborah Blood and her husband Michael of Ayer, Michael Carreiro and his friend Hadley Solomon of Watertown, Mark Carreiro and his wife Liza of Walpole and Cathy Cabral and her husband Michael of Walpole. She was also the great grandmother of Nicholas, Jeffrey, Kate, Matthew, Joseph, John and Derek. She was pre deceased by her brothers Peter, Natale, and Joseph Sostilio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Thurs Oct 6 at 9 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Needham. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Wed from 4-8 PM.
