John F. Larson, 74, of Centerville, formerly of Newton Highlands, died Sun Oct 2, 2005 at his home.
Born in Camden, NJ he grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1949. He later received a degree from Northeastern University. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency during the Korean War. He worked for National Research Corp (NRC) in Newton, and as a mechanical engineer for Bose Corp. for 23 years until his retirement. He moved from Newton to Centerville 7 years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Audrey (Dorrance) Larson, his children Nancy McCall of Scituate, Susan Scanlon of Holliston, Jeffrey Larson of Atlanta, GA, Gregory Larson of Centerville, Peter Larson of Natick, and Eric Larson of Burlington. He is also survived by his sister Jane Thomas of NH and was the grandfather of 10.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Thurs Oct 6 at 10 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre at 11 AM. Interment will take place at 2:45 PM at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
