Devoted father of John E. Belcher Jr. of Holden, Laure Smith of Framingham, Tracy Ash of Bat Cave, NC. Loving grandfather of John E. Belcher III, Amy and Christopher Belcher, Justin and Jenna Chilington. Brother of Clifford and his wife Miriam of Homassasa, FL. Also survived by many step children and step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He was born in Newton and graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1948. Attended Syracuse University, majoring in Political Science. John loved his family foremost and was an avid jazz and Red Sox Fan. John was a kind man, beloved by all his family and his many friends. He was President and owner of E.W. Belcher and Son, a well known catering firm, in Wellesley, which he and his mother operated for many years.
