Sarah Garner, 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 3, 2005, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with Rev. James Hubbard and Rev. Dan Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Garner was born September 9, 1929 in Turner County, Georgia, to the late Raymond Clarence and Annie Ruth Coleman Griffin. She had lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. She was a retired seamstress with Y&W Sportswear and was well known as a cook at the Heritage House Restaurant. She was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Garner is survived by her daughter: Daphine Wilson; son and daughter-in-law: Thomas Jackson and Mary Ann Garner; step-son: Bobby Garner; and step-daughter: Shirley Wilkerson, all of Fitzgerald; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Margaret Smith and Ruby Wiggins, both of Fitzgerald, and Elise Parks of Rochelle. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Thomas Wiley Garner and James Calvin Garner as well as two sisters and one brother.
