Hugh C. Latham, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 3, 2005, at Faith Baptist Church, Fitzgerald with Rev. Cecil Burkett, Rev. Harris Johnson, and Rev. Robert McDearmid officiating. Interment will follow at Mystic Cemetery, Mystic. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Latham was born July 25, 1938 in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Allen Maynard and Thelma Bryant Latham. He had lived all of his life in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired welder with Rainbow Irrigation Systems and a former employee of Paulk Manufacturing, Texgas, and Harper and Woodrum Well Drilling. He attended Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. Latham is survived by his wife: Florence Kittle Latham of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law: Rickey (Judy) Latham of Irwinville; daughter and son-in-law: Lydia (Rusty) Hickey of Mystic; five grandchildren: Paige (Joel) Graham, Caleb Latham, and Russ, Kayla, and Holly Hickey; four brothers: Willis Latham of Tifton, Maynard “Bug” Latham, Jr., Larry Latham, and Victor Latham, all of Fitzgerald; and three sisters: Gail Daniels and Myra Jones of Fitzgerald, and Dolores Carter of Atlantic Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Joe and James Latham.
