THOMPSON, CT – Raymond A. Barrette, 78, of 41 Rachel Drive, N. Grosvenordale, died Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Hospice at Coes Pond, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Cecile M. (Lemay) Barrette; 5 sons, Roger W. Barrette of Woodstock, Donald M. Barrette of Dudley, twins Dennis F. Barrette and Daniel Barrette, and Raymond P. Barrette, all of North Grosvenordale; 5 daughters, Lucille E. Deary and Jacqueline A. Hancock, both of North Gros-venordale, Jeanine Dunn of Thompson, Patricia Tyke of Webster and Deborah Montpelier of Brooklyn, CT; a brother, Leo Barrette of Dudley; 2 sisters, Rita Kralik of Oxford and Bernadette Hogan of Worcester; 27 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; nephews and nieces.
He was born and raised in Webster, a son of Alfred and Victorine (Deslaurier) Barrette, and moved to North Grosvenordale about 25 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Barrette worked as a fixer at local woolen mills before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 4, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:30 PM Monday, October 3, at the funeral home.
